Muneer Al-Muneeri
OIM – Chief Executive Officer

Muneer is a founding director of OIM. He has over 15 years of international investment experience in private equity and venture capital investments, as well as fund management and corporate finance. He has worked on a number of infrastructure projects in Oman and overseas and has expertise in sourcing and structuring investment opportunities from inception to execution. In his previous role with SGRF as a Private Equity Senior Manager – Local Initiatives, Muneer has been leading investment projects in critical and diverse sectors.

He has invested and managed investments under different capital and legal structures with a focus on long-term management and exit. Muneer has conducted and supervised feasibility studies, due diligence, structuring, monitoring and exits of investments. He has also worked closely with the private equity team on originating deals. His previous role was instrumental in founding the Rakiza initiative. Prior to the above described role, Muneer was seconded to Vietnam Oman Investments as an Investment Manager in Ho Chi Minh City, working on a joint venture between SGRF, Oman and SCIC, Vietnam.

Muneer holds a Master in Science of Finance degree from the School of Management at University of Leicester and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics (Finance) from the College of Commerce & Economics at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman.

Qaisar M. Zaman
OIM – Chief Investment Officer

Qaisar is a founding director of OIM. Qaisar has 30 years of experience in investment banking and private equity, focusing on transactions in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia. He has led debt financings in excess of USD 25 billion, and invested and exited infrastructure investments in the UK and US totaling USD 7 billion. His last role was managing oil and gas public infrastructure projects on behalf of the Sovereign Wealth Fund in Bahrain.

One of his key achievements was founding Arcapita’s Infrastructure Investments business, where he, as a founding member, led some of its largest and most successful investments and exits totalling circa USD 5 billion. In his previous role as a General Manager, Investments at the Oil & Gas Holding Company of Bahrain, Qaisar was responsible for originating new direct investments. He successfully led all of its long-term borrowings including the company’s debut issuance in both the bank and capital markets as well as several syndicated facilities and project finance debt for various portfolio projects. Prior to this, Qaisar has held vice president roles at J.P Morgan Chase & Co and the Chase Manhattan Bank.

Qaisar holds a Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Arizona State University, USA and a Master of International Management Degree in International Finance degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Bahrain.

Nigel Govett
OIM – Chief Financial Officer

Nigel has over 20 years of experience in finance and investment functions. He has expertise in financial accounting, cash management, compliance and negotiations, planning, budgeting and forecasting. Most recently, in his previous role as the Chief Financial Officer of the Oman Investment Fund, Nigel was a Senior Investment Committee member responsible for individual asset equity tickets up to OMR 50m (USD 130m).

He oversaw a USD 8 billion portfolio and held senior investment management responsibility within direct investment, private equity and listed/treasury asset classes as well as for the execution and negotiation of complex hedge, bridge and capital financing arrangements. Before joining Oman Investment Fund, Nigel was a Director at EQT Funds Management Limited, Guernsey (2010-2017). He was a General Partner Director of 13 private equity fund structures across a broad spectrum of asset classes and global geographic focus and acted as an administrator, promoter and manager to the offshore funds.

He also held responsibility of control and investment decision making for over EUR 18 billion of assets under management. Nigel was admitted to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2004. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Historical Science from University of Sunderland, United Kingdom.

Rehab Al-Lawati
Chief Operating Officer

Rehab Al-Lawati is an experienced private equity senior with over 15 years of experience working at Oman’s State General Reserve Fund, the Sultanate’s sovereign wealth fund. Skilled in emerging markets, valuation, corporate finance, investments, and private equity funds, she carries with her extensive experience within the investment management industry.

Ms. Al-Lawati began with SGRF as a Senior Officer of Private Equity funds in 2005. She then continued to work her way up to Manager of Private Equity Funds, then Manager of Private Equity Infrastructure and eventually to Senior Manager of Private Equity infrastructure.

She led the establishment of the joint venture between SGRF and Brunei Investment Authority (BIA) in 2009, creating Oman Brunei Investment Company with $100 mln commitment to invest in multi sector high growth companies.

A graduate of Sultan Qaboos University, Ms. Al-Lawati received her Bachelors in Commerce and Economics. She then went on to earn her Masters in financial management from the Universiteit Neyenrode in the Netherlands. She served on a number of boards including Kumport, a port terminal in Istanbul, Turkey, Oman Brunei Investment Company in Oman, MBK Partners in South Korea and IDFC, India’s Infrastructure Fund in India.

A dedicated leader, Ms. Al-Lawati understands the importance of her role as a leader within the organization. As such, she has pursued a number of additional training opportunities including leadership courses and executive management programs.
